4Good computer, but no HDMI
By L. Miller
This is a nice computer for the price. Worked great right out of the box, no issues with set up, wireless connection, or any of the programs. The display is clear and bright (in spite of some reviews on the internet that describe it as "dim", I don't find it dim at all.)However, the photos of this computer are not accurate. The photo of the left side of the computer clearly shows an HDMI connector. When I received the computer, I realized that this model (43344QU) does NOT have an HDMI connector, although other models of the Lenovo G570 apparently do.This could be a deal breaker for some people, so please be aware. I wanted an HDMI connecter, but it's not critical for me, so I elected to keep the computer rather than return it.

5Decent buy for the money.
By Shawn
I did a ton of reviews for a basic laptop. My use is general and not really any gaming. Mostly remote access to work, word, excel, burning disks and photo work. This thing is a solid build with decent speed. Super light and sturdy. Parts of it are made of lightweight metal.I got this because of my Amazon Points which really made a great discount..Anyway, I'd recommend it over acer, toshiba, etc.The only pain is there is a bit of extra software probably most will not use. You can simply uninstall it, but its just a slight pain for some. Also, this does NOT come with any recovery disks. You MUST make your own to restore in the event of a complete hard drive failure. it was the first thing I did and strongly suggest you take the time with this or any laptop as they can be tricky.Good luck and thank you Amazon!

1Received a defective unit and lousy service with the standard warranty
By S. Jenkins
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R8D8X6SAS02IZ I decided to update this review. I originally gave this product 3 stars (due to the sound issue) but the result of the repairs and warranty fight is what made me rate it down to 1 star. I want Lenovo to see this travesty of service and see the problem. I invite them to respond to my review and explain themselves. Read my situation and ask yourself is this quality treatment?10/25 - I received the unit back. Despite their website and 2 tech support reps later the unit was not even repaired. Their website that gives you up to date status said it was being repaired. However, when I received the unit back, the worksheet said they didn't fix the problem. I called the first time when the original status said they couldn't find a problem. I explained the problem in detail to get them to fix it. When I had called them a second time, even their tech support rep said he'd make sure they would replace the hardware of the unit so I can have a peace of mind they did everything. This didn't happen. I made the effort to call twice because their website asked me to call. The fact they didn't fix the unit and having assurance and status updates otherwise makes me feel lied to.In addition, if you read the original review below I purchased an extended warranty. It took 4 phone calls and 10 days to receive my email about the warranty I purchased. The biggest reason I kept asking for it was the fact that their representatives kept asking if I wanted to purchase a warranty when I was already billed for one and didn't receive it! Two representatives told me I would get it within 24 hours. This didn't happen. Last night I was told I'd get it during this call because I told them I'd dispute it on my credit card.I think at this point, Lenovo needs to step up their service. I was lied to, money was taken from me and I didn't get the repairs done. How would you feel? I have to now make another request to send in the unit taking MORE time and leaving me a longer time without the computer I purchased. Apologies are just words, this wasted my time, and I lost sleep doing everything they suggested and not getting results. I made the extra effort to get this laptop repaired when I saw a problem on the website asking me to call, I did so.I am uploading a video so you can see what a brand new laptop in factory condition sounds like. I want other consumers and Lenovo to see and more accurately HEAR the quality of sound. I should not be getting stutters or distortions on this unit. It's more powerful than my other Lenovo which plays audio without this problem.11/22/11 - This unit is still stuck at the depot for repairs. They still think the problem is a buzzing sound and did not read my inventory control sheet nor boot up the laptop to see a giant Sticky Note saying "Please visit this link for the problem"This is ridiculous.I've sent this unit 3 times for the same problem now as per my comments. More insult to injury is that I've asked for the Brand New Factory box to be shipped back with my unit, and they keep giving me this junky dinged box.Original review is below------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This is actually a good laptop for the price. I had purchased this to replace an aging Lenovo laptop. Since the brand is reliable I decided to go with this brand once again.I primarily use these for art and general browsing. No gaming.I wasn't worried about no HDMI port since I need USB ports. I need more on board ports because I use an Wacom Intuos3 6 x 8-Inch Pen Tablet which are very picky about the USB ports.I had little to no problems with the laptop. It runs very cool The programs run smooth. However, after installing and transferring files and installing programs I need I encountered a problem (not noticed because of the transfer process). This laptop has a bad sound problem.Every few seconds you'd get garbled robotic/sound or a kind of stuttering, like the computer can't keep up with playing. At first I thought it was just an issue with the network and possibly latency issues. However, trying other programs to just play music, or even during startup you'd hear garbage sound/stutters.I tried flashing the bios and the same problem will occur. After playing some audio for longer periods of time, it starts to slow down completely, audio starts going into "slow motion mode".I called Lenovo's technical services and am now awaiting repairs. It's a shame that there's a bunch of bad batches of laptops from this line with the same audio problems I had issues with.Lenovo service is pretty great and the technician was friendly. I'm a bit upset however, that I either had to pay for shipping to get it serviced or pay an extended warranty to cover for shipping.I will update this review once I receive the unit back to see if the sound problems are cured. I just wanted to put it out there as a warning that there are sound issues with this laptop and found out from another source so people can be forewarned.
