ALERT -- TOSHIBA AS CROOKED AS A DOG'S HIND LEG

Toshiba Satellite's hard drive crashed after less than two months. Tech support refused to even look at it unless I paid $100 first, because, they said, the problem "may be software-related." It wasn't -- the cheaply made hard drive had bad sectors on it. Toshiba says it will replace the hard drive, as long as I pay a further $25 for them to send me a packing box and shipping label. Next, just try to get back the wrongful $100 charge. It's so far impossible. Endless "transfers" to nowhere, forever on hold, then DISCONNECT. I am forced to try to deal with my credit card company to get this fraudulent charge reversed. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!! UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES BUY A TOSHIBA PRODUCT!!! Signed, Fred Ghirardini\

Love the New Laptop

For years I was a loyal Dell users, but the last two laptops had battery problems that we could never resolve, so I went looking for a replacement. And I found it. The Toshiba is a great size, transfering data was a cinch and I've had no troubles with it AT ALL.

This is my first laptop purchase ever and I'm so glad I decided on this model after weeks of research (and a significant price drop). Perfect for everyday uses such as schoolwork, web surfing, and I'm sure a ton of other things. Overall, the laptop is beautiful, nicely designed and very quiet. The 17.3in monitor is perfect and the keyboard is easy to maneuver. No complaints with the mouse. The setup was super easy and did not take more than 5 minutes. No problems with shipping or packaging. My only complaints are: there was no user manual and the bottom right of the keyboard was not fully "snapped in" upon taking it out of the box but I snapped it in myself with no problem.
