2Very poorly made
By Joseph Ruff
This is a very fragile laptop. The keyboard is marginally responsive. The touchpad is extremely buggy. Even when three feet away the WiDi loses the connection. Worst of all, it comes with a two year warranty, but when you call Toshiba they say your one year phone service has come to an end. I'm not sure how to use the remainder of the warranty. I will never purchase a Toshiba again.

1Junk and Toshiba doesn't honor warranty
By comp12
The keypad was non-responsive on arrival (twice), called Toshiba, after 4 hours on the phone for an out of the box product they said they will not honor warranty. Returned both products which were defective out of box, and bought HP. Will never touch Toshiba computers gain.

1Defective unit! Sent twice to be repaired at Toshiba depot and returned with the same problem! Terrible customer service!
By Samuel Ferro
I bought this Satellite E305 on August, 2011. Since the first days of usage, I noticed that the computer would shut down spontaneously. After studying the problem a little more, I figured out that those shutdowns only happened when the computer was coming from either a hibernation or sleep modes. So, I decided to call Toshiba's customer service. The first "repair" performed by them was to reconfigure the computer BIOS. It didn't work. I called them again and at this time they suggested to reinstall Windows and set the computer to factory settings. After backing up all my stuff, I performed what was suggested along with a customer service representative support through the phone. It didn't solve the problem again.I called them again. At this time, they asked me to send the computer to a Service Depot to be repaired by "specialists". Although that would cause me trouble, since I would be able to use the computer at work for at least 20 days, I agreed to send the computer and pay the $25 in shipping expenses. 20 days later, for my surprise, the computer arrived with a note in its box mentioning that no problem was found and, therefore, no repair was performed. Despite the long description of the problem and several ways to get in touch with me (maybe to further clarify the computer's issue), Toshiba incredibly sent the computer back to me basically stating that their consumer (me!) was lying to them. That's outrageous!I called customer service again. After many apologies they asked me to send the computer again to Toshiba's service Depot, assuring me that this time the computer would be repaired. I asked them to at least pay for the shipping costs since they were responsible for that additional mistake. Impressively, that was denied. I agreed to pay those expenses again and send the computer on more time to be repaired. 20 days later (at this time not surprinsed anymore, after the bad experiences I had so far), the computer was returned with the very same problem again. To make it even worse, the note that came in its box mentioned that the Windows was reinstalled and that would have solved the problem. How come they do the exact same "repair" that was done previously (remember that the Windows had been reinstalled before and it didn't work!) and expect that it would be effective? Only Toshiba can explain such a terrible customer service like this.I used to work in for a manufacturing company and know that quality issues might happen and deffective units might be produced and sent to customers. What I don't accept is to be treated like this.I didn't decide yet what I'm going to do with this useless laptop. But what I can be sure is that I will never buy a Toshiba again and will do my best to let people know how bad Toshiba's customer service is so people can make more conscious purchase decisions. If you don't want to experience such bad customer service don't waste your time, money, and patience with a Toshiba. Try to find some other computer manufacturer.
