5Best Laptop I've ever owned
By Scott Soulages
Let me start by saying that I am a road warrior. My laptop is my business. Over the years I've owned laptops by Fujitsu, Toshiba, IBM, Gateway, Dell, HP and a few others. This is my first Sony. I am impressed by the build quality, the features and the pricepoint. My model came with 1920 x 1080 screen, which gives me plenty of real estate for the multi-tasking required in my job. The quad processor lets me tackle any of the business tasks. I am not a gamer, but I suspect that the video memory might not be up to snuff for serious gamers. The only things, really, that differs between this and the Dell XPS are the video memory, lighted keyboard (this does not have one) and the price. I upped my RAM to 8 GB and upped the OS to windows 7 Ultimate and now I have a machine that will last me years. Enough rambling. What I like and dislike about this unit:Likes:- Power adapter is relatively small for the size of the unit. HP's is easliy 5 or 6 times larger.- Power plug is a 90 degree plug, so it is not as likely to get jarred or bumped as one that sticks out from the laptop a few inches.- Built in bluetooth makes it easy to connect my bluetooth headset and listen to pandora while I work- Great video resolution, and the LED screen is amazing. Makes my external LCD Samsung monitor not look as good as I thought it did.- Tactile keyboard. I like the separate keys (similar to the iMac). It just feels like it will last longer than the pop-off keys on other units- Multi-touch pad is cool, but it takes some getting used to- 4 USB portsDislikes:- USB ports are towards the front of the laptop, which means the cords get in the way sometimes- Video port is near the front of the laptop. That cable is huge and gets in the way.- No switch to turn off the touchpad. Sometimes when I'm typing my hand will hit the touchpad and I'll end up typing in another part of my document. Annoying. HP has a switch to turn the touchpad on and off that is really handy.- No fingerprint reader. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice.- No lighted keyboard. Again, not a big deal.- No customizable buttons to control the media player or launch apps.- Location of Home, End and Delete keys drives me crazy. The more I use it the more I'll remember where they are.The weight is what I would expect from a 17" laptop. And the battery life is OK.In all, I totally recommend this laptop to people who want a solid feature-packed performer for a reasonable price.

5Awesome
By Raymond F. Leon
I have to tell you, it was a tough choice to make. I have been a DELL user for a long time and because of the Sale Price that this machine came with I decided to give it a try and it is well worth it. I don't do any magical tricks with it, mostly office style work but it is such a great piece of equipment!I recommend it, very highly. Although I would shop around for the price, compared with what I see in Amazon, I got it for $599.oo at Frys, so Do look around

I like the laptop, however if I would have known I would be unable to obtain a 9 cell or 12 cell battery I certainly would not have purchased it...Battery time is short!!!!!!!
