well i was a toshiba fan for years until recently i it let me down so i did the reviews and i got the asus had best rewiews so i put it to test k series with windowns 8 which was somewhat different but i figured it out in about 2 days bottom line its a smooth laptop great speed power sound quality battery life best machine u will get for the price its lacking some design when it comes to keyboard and the power button its very simple but incredibly fast i would deff recommend it specially for the price i would not get nothing else i was skeptical at first because i was not familiar with asus i took a chance and i wont be going back to toshiba now

Well I just bought this product from BestBuy, which is a lot of cheaper than here by around 170 dollars. And all I can say about this is that, this laptop's amazing. It runs really fast and it's battery life is long. I highly recommend this laptop, only if this is with Windows 7 it would've been better.

cloud computer? Instant on is not about the cloud but reduced return from sleep mode.

This computer is not a cloud computer, it is standard kind. the instant on feature shortens the wakeup from sleep mode or hibernation, not instant on like cloud computers. I own the K55A-DB51.

Great computer

Just got this laptop and I have to say I love it so far.The only issue I do have with it, as many others have said while I was looking at reviews before buying this product, is that the trackpad does have its issues.At times the pad is a bit too sensitive, while at others its a bit unresponsive (usually only when I'm trying to zoom in and out which isn't a big deal). The buttons on the bottom aren't very large so, if you're like me and you don't push the button on the edge or the lower corners of it, you may accidentally touch and move your mouse.I haven't found any other issues with it and I must say I do love the speakers. Though it isn't a very high range of volume, the highest volume is at a great level and the sound quality is very good (though still not as high as the Kindle Fire HD in my opinion).I love the length of the charger, though the only thing I'd say I don't like about the laptop (and I think this is just a new thing with the newer laptops) is that I wish it came with a backup CD, in case something happened.Perhaps I'm old school, but it is a nice thing to have if your computer does have a problem.I also feel it necessary to say that this is a great product for its price and I specifically chose Windows 7 because I've demoed on Windows 8 before and I can't say its my cup of tea. So it was a bonus for me to just be able to open the laptop and be able to use it right off the bat with little to no setup.

Nice machine for the price

I was looking for a replacement lap top when mine crashed and three brands were recommended. Lenovo was one of them. I was searching for windows 7 and found this machine. I added 4 G of memory and so far I really like this computer. There has been one problem on which I had to spend money to fix. After about 5 or 6 days of owning the computer and it working like a champ, I suddenly started to have boot up problems where my screen would go black and never fully open. I could not figure out what was wrong, so took it to some local technical guys. They did some research and found that a "feature" of the Lenovo is something called "quick boot" or something like that. It actually interfers with the opening of windows and has to be disabled in order for the computer to properly boot up. It cost me a couple of hours of technical time, and a full day to drive back and forth, and wait for the machine to get fixed. I wish that this was something I knew about in advance. Other than the glare on the monitor, I would recommend this machine.

ALL I NEEDED

The computer is a work of art. Never gets hot, unless playing Crysis 2. While playing crysis 2 this computer can easily perform 4-5 tasks while playing and switch screens in around 1-2 seconds using hardcore graphics. Now Skype, Chrome, WMP, and Starcraft 2 are an easy cake playing on Extreme graphics. The computer is light weighted and the HP logo lighted on the back is awesome. beats Audio is great for my guitar rig 5 and creating some beats on CUBASE 6.5. This computer is everything I expected. The only bad thing to say about it is the incorporated mouse buttons wich they make a weird noise when pressed. everything else is working on perfect conditions. So good so far!.

Very Powerful Laptop For Cheap Price

Yay first customer review ever (probably because this was the most expensive thing I have bought on Amazon)Laptop came a day early, so great delivery from the company. I'm no computer guru but here are my thoughts:PROS:-Very fast startup/shutdown-Stays relatively cool (gets a little hot when playing graphic intensive games)-Around 5.7 pounds (rather lightweight for its specs/size)-Keyboard is comfortable to use esp. with backlight-Powerful graphics card (Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 run smoothly with maxed out settings after a bit of startup lag)-Fast processing (switching and opening many windows/games is very quick)CONS:-Fan can get pretty loud and hot esp. when gaming (well i guess its expected for a laptop)-Battery life is less than 2 hours for gaming-Mousepad might feel a little cheap and has a little annoying noise when you press it-Bloatware (though not as much as some comps)-Powerbrick might be inconvenient-Beats audio is relatively good, but does not reach expectations (use headphones for better experience)Overall, the pros outweigh the cons by a boatload, as the cons are just a few annoying tidbits I found. Not an absolutely perfect laptop, but for the price, I recommend to everyone, especially gamers.

Simply Beautiful

This Beauty comes with latest Intel 3rd Gen Core i7 Series processor along with a nVIDIA discrete Graphics adapter simply giving you a boost right when you need it most.It is perfect for your daily tasks as well as gaming.It have nice metallic flat finish with lining on the surface and looks very nice.I recommend it to every one.

DEFECTIVE WIFI

System worked fine, but over a short period of time, the wifi could not connect and/or would run at EXTREMELY slow speeds to only then disconnect. Intially the wifi was good, but after 2-3 weeks it started to malfunction

Incredible Laptop

This laptop is incredible, its super fast , has incredible resolution and has an amazing screen. The Keypad is also very easy to use . There are a few things that I dislike ; it comes loaded with software that they promote (stupid games) and the battery life doesnt seem that great. But, in my opinion the laptop still deserves 5 stars , dont know if there is a better laptop for the price.
