Great For Gaming

This laptop is well worth the price! The graphics it can handle blows my mind. Everything this laptop has is worth more than what they are asking, hands down. 6 GIG RAM paired with the 2.5 Gz Duel Core Processsor is powerful enough to handle any and all of my programs, exe ( virus scan while playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 with graphics on the highest setting ). Only setback is DVD drive makes a little noise when i have a cd in it, due to dropping the laptop. Its an easy fix that the warrenty cover. I debated buying it because of all the so called "gaming" laptops out there and I am Very happy I decided to get this one. ***********All in all a great buy for the price, hell I would of paid alot more for it*************

Extremely weak product support! Not recommended

I am a software engineer who has used a variety of brands. I got a 3 month old DV6t-2000 i7 quad core with 8GB RAM for development purposes. I trusted in HP brand and bought this computer to see that there is absolutely no support. The computers GET issues from time to time, a well performing computer does not necessarily mean that it is a good product.The support department is going to offer you to replace the whole panel and reformat the PC if one of your key-caps(in my case up arrow) gets loose or broken. You will have to leave your PC to service department for at least a month if you have warranty, and if your warranty is over may God help you since your will have to pay several hundred dollars. There is absolutely 0 initiative, and prepare to talk to human robots. I went up to their CEO! and could not get a resolution. Managers are arrogant and chooses to fight with the customer instead of offering solutions.I am an IT expert and strongly suggest advanced and novice users to stay away from HP as far as possible...05/27/2010After sending several emails and hours spent on the phone calls, I could get the support department to resolve the issue. However, they sent a whole keyboard panel. So, it seems, once the warranty period is over, I would have to pay for the panel. It is a powerful computer , yet the support is still weak.

Just an incomplete product

The design is really good, I just loved my pavilion until the moment it started to fail, 1 year after purchase and everything failed, the led display, the hard drive (3 times), the battery. Some serious brand should hire hp's design team and get great results.

Hell of a computer

It's a netbook in size only. This thing is a gaming POWERHOUSE! It can play all of the latest games, the only thing it lacks is an optical drive, but i gains by a pre-install of the Steam Client and Portal for free. only thing that i don't like how the backplate isn't customizable anymore, and you can't laser etch your name into the plate when you buy off of amazon. It stock includes 4Gbs of RAM 250Gb 7200 RPM HDD and a semi-old (but extremely powerful) Intel dual core processor. I've been able to play these so far with 30+ FPS:TF2HL2Black OpsL4DL4D2Modern Warfare 2Postal 2PortalPortal 2Counter-Strike: SourceHomefront.It's amazingly awesome, haven't had any problems yet! Tech support is appearently bad but i hear that you've been able to contact through Dell and not Alienware. Great resolution screen (I can play Crysis 2 with 25 FPS with native res) cheap cheap optical drives floating around as an option. Has great speakers! i have really really bad acoustics in my family room, but with the speakers up all the way i can hear it from the back of my house! So many LED's with alienware LED software and if your computer has a problem, you can use Alien Re-spawn, which comes with this computer. Has LED's on the hard drive, fan on the bottom, illuminative keyboard, and on the dual speakers in the front. It's classified as an ultra-portable and that's exactly what it is. 7+ hours on integrated graphics. Oh! and you can switch the graphics almost instantly with the press of a button from discrete to integrated. (Intel HD graphics 3000). Can overclock by going into the BIOS and just selecting "overclock enable/disable". Great computer, affordable price. Great video quality, and good Internet connectivity, great for streaming media like YouTube and Netflix. As an added bonus, if you order from Dell, you can ship it with a game and accessories like a keyboard and mouse, and also customizable LED's from the website factory installed to your personal liking. Has a great metal casing that is VERY durable. BEST computer I've ever had!

Good computer but buy from somewhere else

The laptop itself is great. The first couple days it will seem glitchy and thats because you need to do all of the updates for its especially windows 7 service pack 1. After that the blue screens of death stopped.Mine came with one of the rubber stands on the bottom shorter than the others so when you rest your left palm on it it jiggles. I just superglued a penny to it and the problem is gone.You should buy this from another source because this seller didn't respond to my emails to resolve an issue. My issue was that literally the day after I bought they slashed $50.00 of the price and I didn't think it was fair and that it would be alot more efficient for them to refund me the difference rather than go to the trouble of returning it for a full refund only to buy the same computer again. I thought of doing that but I loved the laptop so much that I decided to go ahead and keep it because it was a price I was willing to pay to begin with and I still had consumer surplus.

Lot of band for the buck !!!!

When first purchasing this I did not know what to think. Wanted a good laptop but did not want to pay alot of money for. Went to Dell site and for everything laptop has in it put it why over the price I purchased it for. It Intell dual Core processing speed 1.30Ghz,4GB OF Ram and can expand up to 8GB. And a 250GB Harddrive and a very good 11.1 viewing screen with a 720p HD viewing and a dedicated graphics cards 1GB which means one hella gaming machine. Other features I like lighted keyboard face recondition wireless abgn and webcam and mike. All this for one low price and would deal with this retailer again. Thanks bulldog7062

Terrible sound!

Purchased this item in October 2011 largely because I needed something powerful enough to work with some fairly large files in STATA. And on that front I have not been disappointed, though I would recommend spending the extra for the SSD drive. However, I have one major complaint. I work in an open office environment and use Skype, Google Voice, Pandora, Spotify and others almost constantly. On this count, there is something wrong with the headphone jack. As soon as you plug in headphones, even during the boot sequence, and regardless of the volume level on the system, there is noticeable and distracting hum and feedback. Spent close to an hour on the phone with Lenovo tech support and they had no interest in hearing about the problem or trying to solve it. I've updated drivers, tried other headsets, etc. The problem has every indication of being at the hardware level. I assume the problem is a lack of shielding and/or inferior components between the onboard audio chip and the analog jack. In any case, if headphones are a regular part of your computing experience and you are even mildly aware of audio quality, I strongly recommend against buying this laptop.

A very light and slim laptop

A bought this laptop over 6months ago, and i have been using it consistently, this is not my first laptop, but it is the best i have ever bought so far.Pros:Slim and light, hence easy to carry around.Battery life very good, more than 4hrs when in a good climate (be careful if you gonna use it in a hot climate, battery life could be just 2hrs).Automatically activated lowlight condition for keyboard, this makes it good to use in the dark, the backlight only comes up in the dark when the keyboard is pressed.Hard disk size is big enough for any multimedia data.Cons:The only issue found so far is the memory, though i have not proved this much, but I noticed atimes when the HDMI port is being used and a movie is played at the same time, there are atimes some delay. Hence, am trying to increase the system memory from present 4gb to 8gb. But so far, this is a very good laptop.

I am completly satisfied with the product. This one is offering me more than what I have expected. Best part about this product is the very less heating effect. I keep on using this all day and I can feel very less heating effect. I would rate this product 4.5/5.0.

Great laptop for the price, but you can find it cheaper at retail stores

[...]Since my previous laptop is now technically in two pieces due to the plastic bezel of the monitor breaking, I wanted a laptop that could withstand wear and tear of daily use without compromising on flexibility. After looking at the other brands around the same price point, I felt the VAIO NW was superior in terms of the design and durability. Having used it for a few days now, I am very happy with this product and I would recommend it to others.

Great features,price,looks,one FATAL flaw

I purchased the sony vaio VGN-NW270F. Initially I was happy with it and the blue-ray. Shortly however I noticed when I charged the laptop to 100% and turned the laptop off,24 hours later the battery would be at 90% or less. This issue is common on ALL newer vaios, google it if you do not believe me. Search "Sony Vaio battery drain". Sony will not release a "fix" for it,in fact in one customer service report they describe this as a feature. The battery life never exceeds 2.5 hours either (4 hours listed). I jumped the gun big time buying this laptop. Do your research, now I will take a 85% hit in return price and need a new laptop for school starting January.

After comparing all the laptops in the BestBuy store, We pick this laptop for the BEST.Not only elegant design, beautiful body, but it also has a very sharp and bright lcd screen for the built-in Blu-ray Drive!In short, You can't go wrong for the price of this laptop!Sony will become a big guy in the computer market!
